Dear Parents,

Brooke’s Learning Corner, has been my dream for many years. It started without a name, it was just a home that my mom, Mrs. Marva Bailey had provided for the neighbor’s kids on every Sunday and every given holiday. It was her faithful and heartfelt compassion that taught me that education and giving back to our community was the number one priority for being here. I didn’t understand the importance until, my early teens. My mother would have book readings, party’s and home filled with love.

She gave so much of herself to the children in our neighborhood. My mother volunteered me to replace her as the reader to the kids. I initially, thought it was chore, but it ended being a life changing experience. I realize like all kids, they only wanted attention, someone to understand them and quality time. So, I decided to join our family’s legacy to attend Prairie View AM University and obtain my Bachelor’s in Education. I taught school for over 12 yrs. and decided that I had enough experience to follow my dreams. I opened a learning center in my community and share what has been shared with me for all of these years. I truly believe that I can make a difference with the next generation of children.

Even though I was blessed to have my mother for 62 years, she was able to see my two beautiful children Brooke and Jordan. I have been amazed and astonished to actively watch my mother inspire others as well as myself. She invested so much of her resources to prepare others and I am so grateful to have her in my life.

I realize she was preparing me all along. So this is my story and I’m proud to share it with others, I’m excited and honored to continue her legacy.

I dedicated this to Mrs. Marva Gail Evans Bailey. “A woman dedicated of making a positive change”.

Sincerely Yours,
Talia Bailey
